Joko Widodo (created 21 June 1961), also called Jokowi, is the seventh and current President of Indonesia, in office since 2014. Recently he was Mayor of Surakarta from 2005 to 2012 and Governor of Jakarta from 2012 to 2014. Before changing his name (changes of name aren't uncommon in Java), Jokowi was called Mulyono.[7] His daddy came from Karanganyar, his grandparents came from a town in Boyolali.[8] His education started in State Major College 111, Tirtoyoso, known for being a institution for the less rich people.[9] At age twelve, he started out working in his father's furniture workshop.[10][11] The evictions he experienced three times in his childhood affected his way of thinking and his leadership later on as the mayor of Surakarta (Solo) as he organised casing in the town.[12]After primary college, he persisted his studies in SMP Negeri 1 Surakarta (middle college).[13] He previously wished to continue his education in SMA Negeri 1 Surakarta (senior high school), but he failed the entrance exam and went to SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta instead.[14]Joko Widodo graduated from Faculty of Forestry at Gadjah Mada University or college, Yogyakarta in 1985 to study and research about the use of plywood.Jokowi started his tenure at a state-owned organization company called PT Kertas Kraft Aceh, but went home not long after scheduled to his disinterest. Then began working for his grandfather's furniture manufacturer, before establishing his own company called Rakabu, whose namesake is the name of his first child.[15]
