After some controversy about the consequence of the election, Jokowi was named as president-elect on 22 July. He was officially announced as the success of the election by the General Elections Fee (Komisi Pemilihan Umum or KPU), earning more than 53% of the vote over his challenger, Prabowo Subianto, who disputed the results and withdrew from the contest before the matter was completed.[6]Joko Widodo is of Javanese descent. Before changing his name (changes of name are not abnormal in Java), Jokowi was called Mulyono.[7] His father came from Karanganyar, his grandparents originated from a town in Boyolali.[8] His education started in State Primary College 111, Tirtoyoso, known for being a college for the less rich people.[9] At the age of twelve, he began working in his father's furniture workshop.[10][11] The evictions he experienced 3 x in his years as a child affected his way of thinking and his command later on as the mayor of Surakarta (Single) as he organised property in the town.[12]President Joko Widodo Jokowi.
