Joko Widodo (created 21 June 1961), also known as Jokowi, is the seventh and current President of Indonesia, in office since 2014. Recently he was Mayor of Surakarta from 2005 to 2012 and Governor of Jakarta from 2012 to 2014. He was officially announced as the success of the election by the overall Elections Percentage (Komisi Pemilihan Umum or KPU), being successful more than 53% of the vote over his opposition, Prabowo Subianto, who disputed the outcome and withdrew from the competition before the count number was completed.[6]Joko Widodo is of Javanese descent. Before changing his name (changes of name are not abnormal in Java), Jokowi was called Mulyono.[7] His dad originated from Karanganyar, his grandparents came from a village in Boyolali.[8] His education started in State Principal University 111, Tirtoyoso, known for being a institution for the less wealthy citizens.[9] At the age of twelve, he began employed in his father's furniture workshop.[10][11] The evictions he experienced 3 x in his youth affected his thought process and his command later on as the mayor of Surakarta (Single) as he organised real estate in the city.[12]After primary institution, he continued his studies in SMP Negeri 1 Surakarta (middle institution).[13] He previously wished to continue his education in SMA Negeri 1 Surakarta (senior high school), but he failed the access exam and went to SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta instead.[14]Joko Widodo graduated from Faculty of Forestry at Gadjah Mada University or college, Yogyakarta in 1985 to review and research about the utilization of plywood.Jokowi began his tenure at a state-owned business company called PT Kertas Kraft Aceh, but proceeded to go home not long after scheduled to his disinterest. Then began doing work for his grandfather's furniture manufacturing plant, before building his own company called Rakabu, whose namesake is the name of his first child.[15]
