 Candidate Joko Widodo Begins Campaign Tour Towards Central JavaJoko Widodo (delivered 21 June 1961), also known as Jokowi, is the seventh and current Leader of Indonesia, in office since 2014. Recently he was Mayor of Surakarta from 2005 to 2012 and Governor of Jakarta from 2012 to 2014. After some controversy about the consequence of the election, Jokowi was named as president-elect on 22 July. He was formally announced as the winner of the election by the overall Elections Commission (Komisi Pemilihan Umum or KPU), being successful more than 53% of the vote over his challenger, Prabowo Subianto, who disputed the results and withdrew from the competition before the count up was completed.[6]Joko Widodo is of Javanese descent. Before changing his name (changes of name are not uncommon in Java), Jokowi was called Mulyono.[7] His daddy originated from Karanganyar, his grandparents came from a village in Boyolali.[8] His education started out in State Main College 111, Tirtoyoso, known for being a institution for the less prosperous individuals.[9] At the age of twelve, he started out employed in his father's furniture workshop.[10][11] The evictions he experienced three times in his youth affected his thought process and his command down the road as the mayor of Surakarta (Single) as he organised enclosure in the city.[12]329666indonesiajokowidodoreuters2edited.jpgAfter primary school, he continuing his studies in SMP Negeri 1 Surakarta (middle institution).[13] He previously wished to continue his education in SMA Negeri 1 Surakarta (high school), but he failed the entry exam and visited SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta instead.[14]Joko Widodo graduated from Faculty of Forestry at Gadjah Mada School, Yogyakarta in 1985 to study and research about the utilization of plywood.JokoWidodoonwarship.jpgJokowi commenced his tenure at a state-owned organization company called PT Kertas Kraft Aceh, but travelled home not long after credited to his disinterest.
